It’s been a great first day here at JAIG but before we sign off - until tomorrow! - we must end on a sadly obvious note: Julian behind bars = less photos of Julian to ogle at. Even before he was denied bail the Guardian homepage only showed his profile and neck! What a fine neck it is though, non? Encircled as it is by bleached locks… but we digress.

Dear readers, we ask that you gaze upon the snapshot above and imagine: THIS is Julian RIGHT now, lost in thought in his cell in Wandsworth Prison while outside police sirens wail mournfully on the cold streets of London like the ghosts of your lost personal liberties.

There he is, even now pondering what he can do to keep you from the tyranny of secretive governments, all the while looking absolutely delicious.
